Thinkers, Dreamers, Doers

My latest guest post to Elephant Journal. An article for my thinkers (Jang) dreamers (Nong) and doers (Milk) in Munchkinland and to a few feisty Thai women who are all 3.  Give a read, give it a share, and if you don’t want to read it……….just send us a donation for the triplet’s birthday and we’ll call it even.

The Gift No One Else Can Give

by Kathryn Dillman

“We more often find ourselves giving without knowing the impact. We have to realize that the results we do see are gifts, not guarantees. It’s our nature to evaluate our investments, but people are not an absolute unit of measure. When we invest in people, we need to believe in the value of impact we may never see.” Full Article on Elephant Journal

I am originally from Missouri and currently teach English, wrangle Munchkin's, and give hugs in Southeast Asia. I planned on doing the typical backpacker thing for a year or so and moving on.......but 6 years and hundreds of munchkins later, the ride's been anything but "typical". We're still here and still making munchkins' days one hug and high five at a time. Send us a note, some love, or a donation if you're able. Love from Munchkinland, Teacha Katie.

  1. This is grandma in Nixa, MO:  Just read your post and article in Elephant Journal.  I printed it for Grandpa to read.  I was very impressed with what you had to say.  After three years of my beautiful granddaughter being gone, with her heart in Thailand, I get it.  Guess I am a slow learner. We are doing well, altho at the moment I have a bandage on my nose, I had a cancer removed from the middle of my nose a week ago, have to change the dressing twice a day, and have to do this for two more weeks, hoping it will be healed by that time.  Not being a patient person, it has been frustrating. Am so happy that your parents have a home again and will be even happier when they are able to live in it.  Grandpa and I got to see it the day that there was a sale of the owners stuff in the house.  Looking forward to a visit from them tomorrow night. All my love to you,Grandma
