I was halfway through teaching days of the week when I learned that not every kiddo looks forward to Fridays. Over 100 of my students have no families to go home to and they get lonely on the weekends. They live in an orphanage near the school and while their basic needs are taken care of, they desperately want someone to play with them. Play dates, songs, and hugs are free but if you would like to Sponsor a Playdate I’ll put on a fun, educational activity for them on your behalf. I’m so appreciative to have your support. Love, Teacha Katie and the Munchkins.
LeeAllie’s lil sluggers funded by Travis and LeeAllie Carter. There are few things a love more than throwing things at people and the munchkins agree….only a couple kids cried
Mary and Terri’s Cookie Monsters funded by Mary Hakanson and Tereca Diffenderfer. The kids favorite video game is called Cookie a Run, where the gingerbread man is running away from the oven, so we decorated “cookies” (actually donuts) and then chased each other around with them before eating. Some of them had never tried chocolate frosting before and they were buzzinPaint by Number, funded by my very artistic friends Jake and Katie Kriefall…..we didn’t fare so well without your artistic guidance. They turned out more on the impressionist side of things.August 16, 2014 “SHARK ATTACK!” funded by Laura. We wrote a shark attack musical and made it out of clay and read all kinds of animal books….and of course braided Teachas hair.August 11, 2014 “BUBBLES ‘N BRACELETS” I only allow them the use of one app in my ipad but boy do they take full advantage of it. I have to hand it to them though, this one gets the theme across, I’m seeing both bubbles and bracelets featured. Good job munchkins!
