Donate Today and help my students lift their families out of poverty in a single generation. It took us 10 years to be able to write that on our website because it’s taken ten years of hardwork and heartbreak to make it true. My Youth Group is a group of students who will be the first in their families to do things differently and in turn, give their whole family hope for a better life. Our motto is “We Can Do This!” But we can’t do it alone.
If you are looking for a charity that does big things with small donations, Make Our Day is it. Our average student scholarship is $360 a year ($30 a month) and we’ve celebrated so many firsts as a community as a result of those donations.
Donations are sent to students on the first of every month. If you want to sponsor a student scholarship, you can start making a difference today by setting up a one-time, monthly, or annual scholarship in any amount.
How You Can Help
Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference. Here are some ways you can support the Make Our Day Scholarship Fund:
- One-Time Donation:Make a one-time donation to provide immediate assistance to students, classes, and camps.
- Monthly Giving:Consider becoming a monthly donor to provide ongoing support and stability to our scholarship program.
- Annual Giving:Make Our Day awards student scholarships during the 1st quarter of every calendar year, so year end gifts are extremely important to us in planning how much scholarship funds will be available for that year. If you are able to, please consider setting up a recurring annual scholarship in any amount.
- Matching Gifts:Many employers offer matching gift programs, doubling or even tripling the impact of your donation. If your company has its own giving portal, you should be able to find us on their easily by searching EIN #47-4679960

The Good Shepherd
English Camp
Our favorite event of the year
The Good Shepherd English Camp is an annual 2 week event that students look forward to all year long. Donations to this camp yield so much more than just an English Camp. The entire month leading up to this camp provides youth empowerment opportunities as older students are trained to become camp counselors, and teacher training in Project Based Learning is provided to help local teaching staff implement Project Based Learning techniques.
Seeking Corporate Partners
To help our students grow
In 2023, Make Our Day put hundreds of students through camp. We nearly doubled our numbers for 2024 and there is a demand for more students to be able to attend IN 2025.
We need corporate sponsorships or large donations to be able to scale these camps.
If your business or group is interested in sponsoring 2025 camps, our anticipated cost is $500 per day for 10 days a camp. Total fundraising goal is $5,000. This camp reaches hundreds of students and more importantly, trains the next generation of leaders through our junior camp counselor program.
If you can come on board as a title sponsor for 2025, please reach out to Katie (info@makeourday.org) as soon as possible or donate now to 2025 camps so we can include more students in the planning of 2025 camps.
Weekly Classes
$50 per week to sponsor a class
Supplies for weekly classes are purchased with cash donations. We typically spend about $50 a week on class supplies. Donate $50 in cash or gift cards to sponsor a week of classes, or shop our “Always Needed Items” here:
Summer Camps
$250 per day to sponsor a camp
Make Our Day hosts camps for hundreds of children each year. In 2023 / 2024 camps will be held in Phuket, Thailand; Aurora, Missouri; and Surkhet, Nepal.
Student Scholarships
$360 per year is our average scholarship
Make Our Day sends direct financial aid to students at the first of every month. Our average student sponsorship is $360 per year. This allows students to attend school, find safe work, IDs, seek vocational training and higher education in their field of interest.

Long Term Fundraising Goals
We are building a classroom!
This is the future home of our first permanent Make Our Day greenhouse classroom in Aurora. As of summer 2024, we have finished Phase 1 of construction.
We are currently seeking grant funding for Phases 2, finishing the inside of the classroom with public bathroom and shared kitchen. And phase 3, equipping the outside of the classroom with shade and seating.
